It is the mission of Ann K. Snyder Elementary to work interdependently to ensure our students have the critical skills needed to become successful lifelong learners.
Vision Statement
The vision of Snyder Elementary is to be an established, high-performing school through:
- Instruction that is driven by collaborative and innovative thinking, using strategies to engage all learners
- Assessment that generates data to measure added value, and is used to drive instruction
- Intervention/Enrichment that is an extension to daily learning to ensure individual growth
- Character Development that fosters compassion, and the importance of giving back to the community
Dr. Ann Snyder
Dr. Ann K. Snyder was elected to The Woodlands Township Board of Directors November, 2015 and currently serves as Secretary of the Board as well as Chairman of The Woodlands Township’s Economic Development Committee. A proven leader and accomplished administrator who believes in leading by example, she has assembled an impressive list of credentials during the course of her professional career and community involvement.
Snyder served on the Ministry Staff at The Woodlands United Methodist Church (TWUMC) as the Executive Director of Generosity overseeing stewardship, the Foundation and capital campaign raising over $30M in 2018 for capital projects. She was also Head of School for The Woodlands Methodist School which had 650 students ranging from Toddlers thru 8th grade and oversight of 200 employees.
Prior to her position at The Woodlands United Methodist Church, Snyder served as President & CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands where she successfully led Interfaith with a staff of more than 450 and 61 member congregations by developing and implementing strategic initiatives throughout the nonprofit. Dr. Snyder also served as the President & CEO of Interfaith Community Clinic developing tactical innovations. Under Snyder’s leadership, Interfaith Community Clinic became a highly regarded charity clinic both financially and operationally in the greater Houston area.
Dr. Snyder holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Colorado State University, a Master of Education degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia, and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Baylor University. Prior to her appointment as President and CEO of Interfaith, Dr. Snyder served as the Director of Clinical and Field Experience at the University of Houston.
Snyder is well known throughout Montgomery and Harris County for her countless years of service to her community. She served on the Conroe Independent School District Board of Trustees for fifteen years and as President for two terms. Currently, she serves on Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital Board, AFTE Board, Interfaith of The Woodlands Advisory Board, BH&SP Task Force: Mission & Vision Leadership Team, Cypress Woodlands Junior Forum Advisory Board, The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Leadership Board, Montgomery County Food Bank Board, Martin Luther King Commemorative Celebration Committee, and CISD Foundation Board. Dr. Snyder is a sustaining member of the Junior League of The Woodlands and serves on their Advisory Council. She also served as Chairman of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, CHI St. Luke’s- The Woodlands Board, Education for Tomorrow Alliance Board, South Montgomery YMCA Board, Friends of the Library Board, and served as President when she was active in National Charity League, Wilkerson PTA and The Woodlands Junior Golf Association. She was, also, the first woman President of The Woodlands Rotary Club, is a graduate of the Center for Houston’s Future Leadership and was named one of 2015 Houston’s Most Influential Women. Ann and her family are longtime members of The Woodlands United Methodist Church.
Dr. Snyder has been the recipient of many honors for her years of service and dedication: 2000 Hometown Hero, Montgomery County Woman of Distinction, South Montgomery County People of the Year (twice), 2007 Citizen of the Year, 2007 Grand Island Education Foundation Hall of Honor, Rotary International Service Above Self Award, The Woodlands Paul Harris Award (twice), the Rotary District 5910 Hall of Fame, 2007 Junior League Sustainer of the Year, 2007 South Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year, 2009 Drum Major Award, 2012 National Society of the DAR Woman in American History Award, 2012 The Woodlands Rotary Vocational Service Award, 2012 Junior League Visionary Award, 2015 Masonic Lodge Community Builder Award, 2015 & 2016 Honorary Chair for The Woodlands Waterway Art Festival Art Dash, 2015 Grand Marshall for The Woodlands 4th of July Parade, 2016 Honorary Flag Raiser for Montgomery County Friends of the Flag Foundation, 2016 Leadership Montgomery County Honorary Alumnus Award, 2018 Kiwanis Special Olympics Honorary Chair 2018 The Woodlands Celebration of Excellence and 2018 Trailblazer Award Recipient.. Conroe ISD named an elementary school in her honor which opened Fall 2013, Ann K. Snyder Elementary School.
But most importantly, she is married to a wonderful man, Jerry, and they have two amazing adult children, a wonderful son-in-law, and three precious grandchildren.
