I have been happily married for 20 years to my husband Doug. We have 2 children, Hannah and Noah who both attend Oak Ridge High School. I am originally from Illinois but have lived in Texas for the past 10 years.
I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree from Central College in Pella, IA and my Master’s Degree from Western Illinois University. I have been a classroom teacher, school counselor, stay at home mom and youth director. When I’m not at school I am cheering Noah on at his football games, reading, or traveling with my family.
I love working with children and am so excited to be Snyder’s counselor I know we are going to have a great year together.
I am looking forward to working with your children in large and small groups and individual sessions as needed. I will be available Monday – Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to assist with any needs that arise.
I have worked with special needs as well as regular education students for many years. I’ve been involved with helping Pre-K through upper elementary grades for most of this time. This is my third year as a Counselor at Snyder.
I hope to spend most of my time with groups of students working in a preventive manner. In order to accomplish this, I will schedule several classroom guidance lessons. Also, I will offer small group counseling for students as needs arise. I am available to respond to individual student problems any time. Please let me know how I may best be of assistance.
Finally, I truly look forward to working with all of the parents and students at Snyder. I hope you are as ready as I am for another great year!
